About Shannon

Shannon K. Cohall is an attorney, entrepreneur, and community leader at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and law. She is the founder and principal of The Cohall Firm, where she counsels entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and startups on business formation, estate planning, intellectual property protection, and health law compliance. Shannon represents a wide range of clients, including physicians, hospitals, mental health organizations, home health agencies, public health nonprofits, and tech companies, advising on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and strategic growth.

Shannon began her legal career as an associate at an AmLaw 200 firm in the Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice Group. Her prior experience includes serving as an Eagleton Law Fellow at the New Jersey Senate, where she advised elected officials on state health and public safety regulations, and interning with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Before practicing law, she worked extensively in public health research and policy analysis in New York, New Jersey, and Missouri.

Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University; a Master of Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis; and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School. She recently completed a Master of Law in Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship at Cornell Law School (Tech Campus), further equipping her to advise health tech startups and entrepreneurs.

Deeply committed to leadership and service, Shannon serves on the boards of several healthcare and educational nonprofit organizations, and volunteers with youth empowerment initiatives. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Shannon proudly lives out her motto: “Every position of privilege is an opportunity to serve.”
